The Application Process for the Tangipahoa Parish Library is as follows:
1. COMPLETE APPLICATION
Each section of the application must be completed. After each section is complete, carefully read and acknowledge that you have read the Applicant Statement before submitting the application. Be sure to attach your resume or degrees or certificates before submitting the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered for employment.
2. POSITION APPLIED FOR
Please review job descriptions to ensure you meet minimum requirements.
All applicants are subject to pre-employment testing.
When positions are available, applications will be reviewed and the most qualified candidates will be invited in for an interview. There are usually two interviews; the first with the Assistant Director and the second with the Library Director. If you are invited back for a second interview please bring a valid driver’s license and your social security card.
5. BACKGROUND CHECK
After being interviewed, applicants must pass a comprehensive background check before employment offers can be made.
6. ACTIVE PERIOD
All applications for employment shall be considered active for a period of one (1) year.
All applicants hired will be subject to a probationary period of at least six months or one year depending on the position.
