Baby & Me
Baby & Me is a program for adult caregivers and their babies, 6-36 months, that incorporate simple songs, movement activities, and finger plays that are age appropriate and promote early literacy skills for the child. Please call or walk-in to register today and see the calendar for dates.
Story Time is a weekly program where children enjoy stories, action rhymes, simple crafts, and finger plays. This program is suitable for children ages 3-5 years old and there is no registration required. Please see the calendar for the scheduled dates.
Adventure Club is an after school program for 3rd to 5th graders who participate in games, crafts, and activities. There is no registration required. Please see the calendar for the scheduled dates.
Family Movie Night
Join us every other Tuesday for this event for all ages. We show some of the latest movies rated PG and under for a family friendly audience. Popcorn and juice is served just like at the theaters except ours is all free! Check the calendar to see what movies will be playing next.

Bookworm Brunch Bunch
Beginning in August, join us for this brunch-time book club! We will meet on the first Thursday of each month at 11am to discuss a variety of books on different topics and from different genres. Light refreshments and coffee provided, all are welcome!
Adult Computer Classes
Computer classes are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays in the Amite Library computer lab. Classes will cover computer basics, internet and email basics, and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Word. Patrons are welcome to attend classes as many times as they wish. Registration is required. The Tuesday class runs from 5pm to 7pm and the Friday class from 10am to noon. Classes are held August-October and February-April.
Genealogy for Beginners
Interested in learning more about your family history? Join us for this basic introduction to two genealogy data bases and two websites, taught by genealogy librarian Bill Dorman. Classes are held every other Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 in the Amite Library computer lab.
Color Me Calm
Color Me Calm is a coloring club for adults designed to promote relaxation and relieve stress. The program is open to adults aged 17 and up. Meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month at 11:00 AM.
The Loopy Loopers: Amite Knit & Crochet Club
Do you want to learn how to knit or crochet? Would you like to advance? Join us every Monday and Friday at 9 AM for fun discussions and tips on crocheting, knitting, and all types of threadwork. All learning levels are invited.
Join us on Tuesdays to receive supportive critique on your writing and share tips and encouragement with other writers. WriteShop meets at 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM. Writers are welcome to attend whichever time period is more convenient for them.
